PETA-Backed Team Saves Horses From Drone Strike – PETA Headlines
In the midst of the ongoing war in Ukraine, a team backed by PETA Germany and the Global Compassion Fund has been relentlessly working to rescue animals in need. Despite facing various challenges like flooding and missile strikes, these courageous individuals have been risking everything to save the lives of Ukraine’s vulnerable animals. Thanks to their efforts, many animals have been given a second chance at life.
Rescue Mission Near Russian Forces
Just a stone’s throw away from Russian forces in Ukraine, three horses and several dogs were found struggling for survival on an abandoned farm. Among the wreckage, there were sadly several dead animals, and the survivors were left without food. Fortunately, a Ukrainian soldier reached out to Animal Rescue Kharkiv, prompting the PETA Global Compassion Fund–backed team to spring into action.
The Dramatic Rescue Operation
Upon arriving at the farm, the rescue team encountered distressed animals, likely traumatized by the missiles that had ravaged their home. To ensure a safe evacuation, the team had to administer sleeping pills to calm down the dogs. Despite facing challenges, such as getting the panicked horses onto a trailer, the rescuers persevered.
A Race Against Time
The following day, the resilient Animal Rescue Kharkiv team returned with additional support. After much effort, they successfully loaded the remaining horses onto the trailer just before a drone strike hit the property. Thankfully, all animals and rescuers made it out safely, escaping the looming danger.
